A COLLECTION OF ROMANIAS CHINESE LANGUAGE: EDUCATION STORIES

The present volume, A Collection of Romanias Chinese Language Education Stories , is occasioned by the 10th Anniversary of the Confucius Instituteat the University of Bucharest, being a collection of essays pertaining to Chinese language teaching and learning in Romania. The authors sinologists, teachers and students alike share their personal experience in learning the Chinese language, as well as their passion for this ancient civilization spanning millenia. The work encompasses essays penned by Chinese directors and teachers of the Confucius Institute, their focal point being its contribution to the development of Chinese language teaching in Romania, but also to the foundation process of Confucius Classrooms in the undergraduate sphere. The essays contents do not fail totouch upon the dif1048577;iculties of studying this language in Romania, the progress made in didactic training and practice as time went on and, last but not least, the academic and cultural experiences of students with remarkable results.

The fourth volume of the Mythology and Folklore series, the outcome of the debates held within the international conference on Mythology and Folklore organized with the support of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures of the University of Bucharest, adhere to the tripartite structure of the previous volumes: I. Myth, Mythocritique. Archetypes. Symbols; II. Mythological Reverberations. Reinterpretation of Myth: Revitalization, Demythization, Remythization. Socializing Myths; III. Folklore. Folkloric Archetypes. Folkloric Reverberations. To conclude, the 4th volume of the Mythology and Folklore series dwells on studies and debates regarding notions such as theatricality, socio-cultural and religious context, foregrounding various ways in which some archaic myths and rites have survived and withstood the test of time. Likewise, notions such as alterity, power, hierophany or superstition identified in myths and ancient beliefs speak of the process of development, horizontally, of inter-human relations, and, vertically, of a parallel process of awareness of the transcendental relationship between man and divinity.
